Day 20- A hobby of yours.
I love to bake. I always felt like there is no fun in following recipes. Instead I like just trying things out for yourself, which is exactly what I do. Last year, I decided I wanted to leave to work with fondant- this decision was made after many many viewings of Ace of Cakes and numerous wedding shows about cakes- luckly the experiment turned out well. I made everyone that was there that day their own cake. This is how crazy about baking I am.

I wanted so badly to lie down next to her on the couch, to wrap my arms around her and sleep. Not fuck, like in those movies. Not even have sex. just sleep together, in the most innocent sense of the phrase. But i lacked the courage and she had a boyfriend and I was gawky and she was gorgeous and I was hopelessly boring and she was endlessly fascinating. So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane.

John Green. Looking for Alaska.

Day 18-Whatever tickles your fancy.

I know, I know, I post this all the time. But I love it so much.

Day 16- A song that makes you cry or nearly.

Snow Day- The Honorary Title.

I like this version because it’s not like the orginal. I will always remember this song listening to it as I watched the snow fall on the widow pane as we drove to your funeral. You were only 20, life wasn’t fair.

Day 15- A fanfic.  Poem.

I don’t read fan fiction at all. So instead here’s one of my favorite poems at current.

since feeling is first… (VII) by E. E. Cummings
since feeling is first
who pays any attention
to the syntax of things
will never wholly kiss you;

wholly to be a fool
while Spring is in the world

my blood approves,
and kisses are a better fate
than wisdom
lady i swear by all flowers. Don’t cry
- the best gesture of my brain is less than
your eyelids’ flutter which says

we are for each other; then
laugh, leaning back in my arms
for life’s not a paragraph

And death i think is no parenthesis

Day 12- Whatever tickles your fancy.

I adore portrait photography, and Jessica Johnson is on my top five list. You should def. check out her work sometime. She and her husband work as a team, which I think is super cute.

Day 11- A photo of you taken recently.
This was taken last night. Ever night I am reminded why this was the best choice I could have ever made. I’m surrounded by love, and have a second home.

Day 7- A photo that makes you happy.
From right to left, Aaron, Allison, Me, And Kevin.
Here’s something you probably didn’t know about me. I go crazy for anything Disney. Not so much the movies, minus Beauty and the Beast, but that’s a whole other story. We’re talking the parks. I know tons of random facts about the parks, because that’s how into Disney I am. I love feeling like a kid running around in such a crazy themed world. This picture was taken on our rowing spring break last year, and I’m pretty sure when they are agreed to go with me they didn’t know what they were getting themselves into. As Ola said in the car, I was scarring her, because she had never seen anyone so excited about anything before. Allison still makes fun of me for the way I acted that day, but I don’t care. I grew up in Disney Land, as my grandma’s place isn’t far from it, and I just love it so much. Disney with these people was such a great day, that I will never forget.

Day 6- Whatever tickles your fancy.
In a few weeks, I’ll be living here. I am a mix of emotions when I think about it.

Memory is the only way home.

Day 5- Your Favorite Quote.

I’ve feel like I’ve explained the importance of this already, and if I haven’t it’s probably because it’s a long story. I plan on getting this tattooed on my forearm when I get back from China. Because for me, memory really is the only way home. When I lie down and remember, I’m back in the white house, with Sassy sleeping next to me, in my purple room in which my childhood surrounds me, with both of my parents. But it’s not like that anymore, I don’t have a home, or a purple room or two parents together. I watched another family move into my house, and watched another child fall in love with my room. I felt robbed. I hate that this country doesn’t do more to save families like mine, before it’s too late and we lose our homes. At least whenever I remember, I feel at home.

Day 3- your favorite book.
“It’s disappointing to know that someone can see right through you.”
If you don’t already know or assume, by the amount of quotes I post from Jodi Picoult, I’m obsessed with her novels. My copy of My Sisters Keeper is the most worn novel I own, the spine can barley hold itself together anymore. I am so completely in love with this novel. I know what first pulled me in was the Julia/Campbell relationship. The question of what happens to your first love, who you never got to really have a chance with, just rings so strong throughout the book. Also, the family drama pulls me in every time. I’ve never loved a character in a book so much as Jesse. And Anna, poor Anna. I laughed, I cried, and was so happy for select characters. I could probably go on about this book for hours. But I assure you that you will never read a more powerful novel on such a touchy subject.
Please, please, please read it. You won’t regret it.
EDIT: Also, please read the book and never see the movie. It’s horrible. Don’t even get me started.
